ELIGIBILITY

The Competition is open to men and women age Fifteen (15) and over. Except as indicated below, Competitors must be a legal resident of Nigeria or any other international country, void where prohibited by law.

Employees and agents of Campus Punch under the trading name of Blackboardemia, LLC, and its affiliates and/or subsidiaries (collectively, the “Promotion Entities”), are ineligible to participate.

Note: It is not required for a Competitor to reside or hold legal residence in the state or campus they are representing.


HOW TO ENTER

All contestants are expected to pay an early entry of n1000 or late entry of n5000 inclusive of n100 bank charges for any of the contest they apply for. No purchase or payment of any kind by competitors should be made outside the website unless otherwise stated by Campus Punch.

After the Signing Up for free on the website, you may visit www.FaceOfCampus.com and edit your FOC profile depending on the contest you are participating in. The official profile account of the contestant must be completed before the contest. Contestants are encouraged to check the website for new updates on FOC Rules and to ensure their profile accounts are completed and published.

Winner will be selected by public voting based upon the quality of Competitor’s entry, which shall include a digital photograph, article, literary piece and proposal of Competitor’s choosing that conforms to Sponsor’s specifications. Performances for the music and dance contests will be held at locations which will be specified by Campus Punch as they become available.

Winning the Competition is not subject to random chance. In the event of a tie, the Judging Panel shall judge the tied entries based upon the overall quality of each tied entry.

An entry will not be accepted unless the Competitors acknowledge that she accepts and agrees to be bound by all Competition rules.


PHOTO CONTEST

In addition to completing the official entry form, each Competitor must submit at least three (3) digital photographs of only herself (containing no nudity) that conform to the following specifications: Photos should be high-resolution JPG files between 150KB and 750KB (maximum size allowed) and high resolution suitable for printing at 200-300 DPI.

Photos submitted must have been taken on or after Competitor reached fifteen (15) years of age, AND within the past six (6) months.

Photos submitted shall not have been altered by software or other means to enhance the photo, and should not include any promotional logo and/or trademarked/copyrighted images/text.

Photos submitted may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, must not infringe on third-party rights, and must be suitable for publication.

Photographs that include more than one individual, nudity or otherwise do not conform to the specifications described above will not be accepted, and the entries to which such photographs relate will not be eligible for inclusion in the Competition.

Submission of a qualifying entry grants Sponsor and its agents the right to publish, use, adapt, edit, and/or modify such entry in any way, in any and all media, without limitation and without consideration to Competitor.

Submission of an entry further constitutes Competitor’s consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to Sponsor any and all rights, title, and interest in the entry, including, without limitation, all copyrights reserved.


BUSINESS CONTEST

Submission of entries accepted from Jul 16 - Sep 24.

Entrants are expected to fill a form on the FOC Business Contest page that will be opened to them after they have applied from the date of submission of entries.

The entry form would enable them to give detailed information about their business idea. They are permitted to make edits to the entry forms until the deadline for submission of entries.

Top 5 contestants with the highest votes will make the final selection which will qualify them for the live shows where the winner will be announced.


WRITING CONTEST/POETRY CONTEST

The Face Of Campus Writing Contest is an opportunity for new writers of every genre to have their work judged by some of the masters in the field and discovered by a wide audience.

Contestants are expected to submit a short story of exactly 750 words at every stage of the contest. A new topic to write on would be given to the competitors who make it to every stage of the contest.

BE SURE OF YOUR WORD COUNT! Entries exceeding the word or page limits will be disqualified. Type the exact word count (counting every single word, except the title) at the top of the manuscript.

Every registered member of CampusPunch.com who have successfully applied would be given permission to a Submit Button for their entry submission. Only one entry is allowed at each stage of the contest.

Entries in the FOC Writing Contest are adjudicated 70% by voters and 30% by professional writers.

Your entry must be original, in English, unpublished and unproduced, not accepted by any other publisher or producer at the time of submission.

CampusPunch.com retains one-time nonexclusive publication rights to the entries to be published on Campus Punch publications. Any piece posted online, anywhere other than a personal blog, is considered published.

For poetry, poems posted online to poets’ personal blogs, social media accounts, or online forums (like the comments on the Poetic Asides blog are eligible. Anything posted online by a third party is considered to be published.


MUSIC CONTEST

Contest entrants must also not be presently signed to any record label or publisher under any exclusive agreement or have a contractual arrangements which prohibit them from participation or give a third party exclusive rights in any composition entered in the Contest.

During the Contest Period, visit FaceOfCampus.com (“Website”) follow the links and instructions to create or login to your FaceOfCampus.com account and follow the links and instructions to upload your musical composition (herein referred to as your Submission) to the Website. By uploading your Submission, you agree that it conforms to the guidelines, permissions, and content restrictions below and that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may remove your Submission from the gallery and disqualify you if it believes that it fails to conform.

If your Submission includes lyrics that are not in English, you will be required to send an email to info@CampusPunch.com that includes your user name for your account along with the lyrics in both the language used in your Submission and in English for review by Sponsor. Failure to provide this information will result in your Submission being disqualified

Only one person per account for the FOC Music Contest. Only work created by the contestant can be posted. Members shall use FaceOfCampus.com for lawful purposes only. Competitor shall not post or transmit through FanMusic any material which violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others, which is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane or otherwise objectionable, which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law, or which, without FaceOfCampus' express prior approval, contains advertising or any solicitation with respect to products or services.

Any conduct by a member that in FaceOfCampus' discretion restricts or inhibits any other member from using or enjoying FanMusic will not be permitted. Contestants or fans shall not use FaceOfCampus to advertise or perform any commercial solicitation, including, but not limited to, the solicitation of users to become subscribers of other on-line information services competitive with FaceOfCampus.

Subscriber shall not upload, post or otherwise make available on FaceOfCampus any material protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner of the copyright, trademark or other proprietary right and the burden of determining that any material is not protected by copyright rests with Subscriber.

Any member shall be solely liable for any damage resulting from any infringement of copyrights, proprietary rights, or any other harm resulting from such a submission. Subscriber shall at all times retain all right, title and interest in and to the Subscriber material (including, without limitation, the copyrights therein and thereto), subject to the non-exclusive rights granted to FanMusic under this Agreement.

Subscriber is free to grant similar rights to others during and after the Term of this Agreement. By submitting material to any public area of FaceOfCampus, Subscriber automatically grants, or warrants that the owner of such material has expressly granted FaceOfCampus the royalty-free, non-exclusive right and license to display such material. Subscriber retains copyright.


DANCE CONTEST

Face of Campus would make available provisions in different states around the country where contestants would perform at a life show during the pre-voting period. Face Of Campus would cover the events and create videos for each contestant. The contestants would be expected to then upload this video on the site.

To submit a valid entry into the Contest (each, an “Entry”, collectively, “Entries”) individual or group of individuals must: (i) download the featured song. All dance video to be submitted must use the track above for the contest. (ii) Create your dance video. Produce your video and publish it on Instagram and YouTube with hashtag #NameofSong #FaceOfCampus #FOC-DanceContest in the video title or description.

(iii) Submit your video. Log in to your faceOfCampus account and submit your video in the dance contest section.

Entrants must complete all three (3) steps described above and use the Hashtag to submit a valid entry (each, an “Entry”, collectively, “Entries”) into the Contest. 

The Submission Materials may not contain references which are obscene, crude or vulgar, gang identification, references to commercial products, license plate numbers, phone numbers, personal addresses (physical or email), Website URLs, derogatory characterizations of any ethnic, racial, sexual or religious groups, references to illegal or inappropriate activity, behavior or conduct, or any other references that could be considered inappropriate, unsuitable or offensive, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.

Entrants must be registered users of Instagram or YouTube to enter. If an entrant has no Instagram® or YouTube account, one can be created on the home page of either site. Entrants must ensure that the social media account used to submit the Entry is set to “public” so that their Entries are viewable.

In the event of a dispute concerning the identity of the person who submitted an Entry and the identity of the official entrant, the Entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the social media account associated with the Entry. The “Authorized Account Holder” is the natural person to whom a social media account is assigned.

Only one entry shall be accepted per person or group. Sponsor and those working for Sponsor or on behalf of Sponsor, will not be responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or postage due mail or e-mail, or for Internet, computer hardware and software, phone, and/or any other technical errors, malfunctions, and delays. Entries which are mutilated, incomplete, illegible, inaccurate, forged, irregular in any way, or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules are also void. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges, and these Official Rules and to comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

BY SUBMITTING HIS/HER ENTRY, EACH ENTRANT AFFIRMS AND REPRESENTS THAT HE/SHE HAS THE EXPRESS PERMISSION OF EACH INDIVIDUAL APPEARING OR IDENTIFIABLE IN THE ENTRY. 


VOTING

During the phases of the Competition, anyone age thirteen (13) or older at the date of voting may cast one or more votes for one or more competitors.

During the registration and post-registration period each contestant can gain additional votes by referring others. Each referral counts as two votes. The votes acquired during this period would be added to the contestant’s total vote as the contest starts.

Once the contest starts every voter can vote for any competitor twice in a day at 6 hours interval.

Qualifying votes shall only be cast in accordance with the instructions as listed in the Competition terms and conditions.

The winning Competitor(s) of each phase of the Competition will be determined based upon the number of qualifying votes received, with those receiving the highest number of qualifying votes deemed the winner(s).

NOTE: COMPETITORS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO CAST PAID VOTES FOR THEMSELVES.

“Bot” activity or any kind of robotic or automated voting mechanism is not an acceptable form of voting. If this type of false voting is detected by our server, the associated IP address will be banned from voting.

FaceOfCampus reserves the right to disqualify competitors suspected in partaking in this type of activity, or any other voting activity we deem unfair.


JUDGES

Judges will be assigned to officiate each contest. A list of these judges and their profile would be updated on the site soon.

Although the contest is purely based on voted accrued by each competitor, winning the Competition is not subject to random chance. In the event of a tie, the Judging Panel shall judge the tied entries based upon the overall quality of each tied entry.

CONDUCT

By entering, Competitors agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, Competitor’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Competition, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Nigeria without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, and Competitors consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state, and local courts located in Lagos, Nigeria.

Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual: (a) acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be in violation of these Official Rules; or (b) acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be unsportsmanlike, disruptive, and/or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person.

“Bot” activity or ANY automated or mechanical methods are NOT an acceptable form of voting. If this type of false voting is detected by our server, the associated IP address will be banned from voting.

FaceOfCampus Reserves the right to disqualify competitors suspected in partaking in this type of activity, or any other voting activity we deem unfair. 

CAUTION: COMPETITORS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO CAST PAID VOTES FOR THEMSELVES, COMPETITORS CAUGHT UTILIZING THEIR PERSONAL PAYMENTS METHODS AND CASTING PAID VOTES FOR THEMSELVES MAY BE SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION.

ANY ATTEMPT BY A USER OR COMPETITOR OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE COMPETITION IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND COSTS (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.


VERIFICATION OF WINNER

Potential winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, a liability/publicity release, and other documents (“Prize Claim Documents”), as may be required or permitted by law.

If any potential winner fails or refuses to sign and return all Prize Claim Documents within fourteen (14) days of prize notifications sent, the winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be determined or selected.

Sponsor is not responsible for any change in address of Competitors.


GENERAL

Competition is governed by the laws of the State of Lagos, Nigeria, and all claims must be resolved in the local, state, or federal courts of Lagos, Nigeria.

By entering this Competition, participants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Competition Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final in all matters related to the Competition. Promotion Entities also reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition.

This Competition is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. By participating in the Competition, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judging organization and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Competition or these Official Rules.

Winner and participants also agree to release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless the Promotion Entities, and the officers, employees, contractors, and agents of each, from and against any claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse, use, loss, or misdirection of any prize, or participation in any Competition-related activity or participation in this Competition, or any other error in the offering or announcement of any prize and hereby waive all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; all causes of action arising out of or connected with this promotion, or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries.

If you are selected as the winner, your information may also be included in a publicly available winner’s list.
