"attend Church Or Fail My Exam" - Lecturer Subtle Threat
Emmanuel, an Abia Poly students' life entered a crossroad when his lecturer specially invited him to attend a coming church programme. He knew what such invitation could mean.
The day was really a fun filled day in church because everyone present was treated to a recipe of laughter and praise.
It happened today in a church (name withheld) located in Okigwe Road in Aba where students of the Abia State Polytechnic were invited for a programme by one of their women lecturers (Mummy Clara) who is an active member of the church and also the wife of the presiding Reverend of the church.
It was a time of refreshing fun but what took everyone into a state of unending laughter was when one of the invited students from the school came out to give a testimony on how he had to travel long distances to get to the church for the programme because he didn't want to fail or the lecturer to deal with him for failing to attend.
Emmanuel, who is from AkwaIbom coupled with his AkwaIbom accent, in his own words, said "I thank God for saving me from an accident from port Harcourt this morning down to Aba. I didn't want to miss this programme I was invited for by my lecturer because I don't want to have carryover in her course and that is why I have come but the devil wanted to plan evil for me to miss it and have problems with Mummy."
The entire congregation that was present, even his fellow students cheered him for speaking the truth and many eyes turned to Mummy Clara who is a senior lecturer in the department of Accountancy.
After the service, the students who were in attendance were asked to wait and pen down their names on the attendance register and truly, Emmanuel was correct and wise.
