Unibadan shakes its leadership structure

Earlier today, the Vice-Chancellor of Unibadan, prof. Idowu Olayinka, through a post made available to us on his Facebook page, while recognizing the meaningful contributions made by the immediate past Provost, Collage of Medicine, Directors, Deans and HoDs of some selected faculties and departments to the university, congratulated the newly appointed individuals to fill up the vacancies created by the leaving officers of the school.


The newly appointed individuals are:

Prof Olayinka Omigbodun - Provost College of Medicine

Prof Catherine Chowen - Dean of The Social Sciences 

Prof. Simisola Akintola - Dean of Law

Prof Juliana Taiwo - Dean of Dentistry 

Prof Omo Aregbeyen - Dean of Economics & Management Sciences 

 Dr Senayon OlaOluwa- Acting Director - Institute of African Studies.

They are to resume their different offices with immediate effect.

Going further, the VC revealed further major changes that will shake the leadership of nearly 60 departments.

"There will also be a change of baton as Head in nearly 60 Departments."


"We wish all the new office holders at the various levels a highly productive, exciting and rewarding experience. We trust you will build on the achievements of those who have occupied those offices previously, as all of us are standing on the shoulder of giants." The Facebook post had read further amidst the VC expressing his readiness to have a cordial relationship with the new office-holders:

"On a personal note, I look forward to a smooth and harmonious working relationship with you in order to take our great institution to a yet unprecedented level. We are in this together.
